Roleplay Rules

  • External Communication (ie: Discord, Teamspeak, Phone Call & Twitch Chat) cannot be used while you are actively playing on the server.
    • You may use this type of communication whilst you’re on the server, only if the other person that you are speaking to is not on the server.
  • Having a Live Stream open of another player who is in the server while actively being involved in the same situation.
    • You may lurk in people’s stream, but if you are actively involved in a situation with the stream, then you must immediately leave the stream and close it down.
    • Using ANY sort of information gained through streams, will lead to a ban within the server.
  • Do not use information outside of IC events and gameplay to locate, benefit, stalk, harass, or interfere with another player’s RP experience.
  • Any dispute between characters/players should remain respectful and in-character at all times.
  • Talk of your “cousin” or family member or another life/dream is also considered metagaming & fail RP. Your characters must not be aware of each other.
    • This includes having both your characters have the same last name, you will be forced to change it to something else.
  • Participating in crime with the same characters that you are in close relations with and/or are in a gang with on a different one of your characters is prohibited.
  • One user (across all characters) Can only own up to 1 business (100% in total shares).
  • One character can not have conflicting WL Jobs for example, salvage and anywhere that uses large amounts of rec mats, mechanic & tuner, pdm and tuner etc. basically anything where being in one benefits another or being in both ruins the rp for other businesses. These limitations include working for GOV Jobs.
    • REMINDER : One user cannot have multiple characters in the same business, or any conflicting businesses.
  • Using information from a discord DM in game and calling it an email is also metagaming/ fail RP. There are small times where it’s acceptable.
  • RDM: You must verbally state clear and reasonable demands to an intended target, and give a reasonable amount of time for the target to respond. If a player complies with said demands, you must provide a valid reason within RP to use lethal force against them.
  • RDM: You cannot randomly kill players without any story/roleplay leading up to it, Twitter Beef is not enough roleplay reason to kill someone. This includes shooting, stabbing friends prior to the tsunami.
    • There absolutely has to be some sort of RP building up to the action, and the reason has to be valid.
    • The victim MUST know why and what is going on, and why they are getting these consequences. This is to clear up any confusion within RP, so it doesn’t seem like they’re being randomly killed.
  • Damage or Theft of property (i.e.: Vehicles) is not considered hostile initiation, and must still be met with verbal demands prior to killing the player.
  • VDM – Vehicles may only be used as a tool to escape a barricaded location, or to disable another player’s vehicle as part of a pursuit. Never to intentionally hurt or run over a person.
  • Using means not actually in-game to gain an advantage or not attempting to roleplay your character in a reasonable manner. (i.e. using the /me mechanic to allow yourself to win with no other option for the person you are in a scenario with).
  • Failure to RP your injuries (when you are downed, roleplay your injuries. You shouldn’t be able to have a normal conversation or be toxic when you just got shot/stabbed/burned, etc.)
  • Talking/Organizing/Calling out locations while downed.
  • Combat Logging: Do not attempt to avoid a scenario in-game by disconnecting to the lobby or leaving the game completely.
    • This also applies to running into your property to escape an RP scenario and putting your vehicle away mid-scenario to avoid any consequences.
    • If your game crashes mid scenario or a server restart happens, open a ticket and return to the scene/coordinate with the other parties to continue the scenario.
  • Hostages must be authentic, taking friends hostage is not allowed.
    • Your character must be prepared to kill the hostage if necessary.
  • Using backpacks with the purpose to hide the weapons (class 2s, etc) on your back falls under the power gaming rule. The purpose of us adding the weapons on back is so people can see them openly. It is a city mechanic and rule, please respect it.
  • Spam punching/abusing combat to knock someone down.
  • Always act as if there is a heavy police presence at all times.
    • The cops in the server cannot always be around, in real life, that is not the case.
    • When doing any criminal activity, you must act on your toes that police are always around the corner, just because you know for sure that there is no PD online, doesn’t mean that you should forget about consequences.
      • For example, if you run down all of the cops in the area at your situation, do not take your time getting out of there, be hasty and on your toes and rush out of there.
    • Don’t shoot at your friends, or be a shit lord to your friends, just because you know cops aren’t around to arrest you, it decreases the RP quality dramatically.
  • During police interactions you are NOT ALLOWED to Benny’s while in view of the cops. If you lose them and they clearly do not know where you are, then you can Benny’s. Cops aren’t allowed to Benny’s in the middle of chases either. If the criminals have lost the cops, then you can repair. Attempting to repair via repair kit and refuel are both fine at any time.
    • This also means that during a police chase, you are not allowed to pull any sort of vehicle out of a garage. You cannot be on a foot pursuit and pull a vehicle out of your garage and try to escape.
  • You are not allowed to insert yourself into someone else’s RP scenario.
  • This includes interfering with people who are taking your friend hostage, actively trying to save your friend from the police (when the friend already had 4 involved), taking a hostage at PD while another active RP scenario is going on., etc. Basically, if it doesn’t directly involve you, ‘mind ya bidness’.
  • This also includes “breaching” or “countering” a heist that is starting, if someone is already starting a heist involving yourself to try to “steal” it from them is considered third partying.
  • Government (I.E. DOJ, LEO, EMS, DOC) Corruption of any kind is not allowed. Staff will review this on a case by case basis. Selling ANY equipment from government armory, or evidence will lead to an immediate ban, this is seen as low quality roleplay.
    • This includes but is not limited to PD Rifles, PD Pistols, Tasers, Nightsticks, and Evidence.
  • Large crimes such as a Jewelry Store robbery, Bank Robbery, or Bank Trucks may not be committed or done 30 minutes prior to restart times.
    • Crime is not to be committed with the intention of “trying to run out the clock” to avoid the possible consequence of being caught.
  • Cop Baiting: Doing low tier crime, to try and get Police to initiate into a chase, arrest, or shootout, without a valid RP reason.
  • Cops are NOT loot boxes, robbing cops solely for their “loot” is not allowed on the server. You may ONLY rob cops when it’s needed to continue an RP scenario or shootout (i.e. bank truck and you need armor).
  • Robbing people with little roleplay is not allowed. Provide some kind of role-play beforehand and not just walk up to someone and rob them. Your character being a “robber” is not a valid reason to rob someone, provide others with an RP experience.
  • A reasonable attempt should be made to preserve your life in any situation. This includes following reasonable demands from a hostile player when there is an indefensible threat to your life. If the opportunity presents itself, players are allowed to defend themselves from opposing forces where realistically possible.
  • Not realistically fearing for your life when you are threatened with weapons or severe harm.
    • If you are a hostage, you must value your life by complying with the aggressors, you should not be making casual conversation with the aggressors, act as if your life is in danger, and not like they are your friend.
    • You are expected to value your life as you would if you only had one life. The only exception to this is if you plan on permanently killing off that character.
  • Adding onto valuing your life, playing out a suicide scenario is strictly against the rules. Suicide RP is not allowed.
  • If you are downed and respawn at the hospital you must follow the new life rule. You may not respawn if the scenario is still playing out and there is a chance that you will be found by the parties on the scene. You must stay away from the place you respawned from for 15 minutes. The Person who respawns (aka you) can decide in roleplay if the scenario dictates memory loss.

General Server Rules

  • Age Requirement: You must be 18+ in order to play on Zenath, there is no exceptions to this rule.
  • You must have a decent working Microphone. This means that background noise should be kept to a minimum and your voice should not “peak” or distort.
  • You cannot copy-paste the name of any famous celebrities (including famous RP characters). Try to be original with your characters, naming your character something offensive will lead to a ban.
    • You can play a “version” of a famous celebrity and base your character on them, but not a carbon copy, be original and add some spice to your character.
  • You must abide by the Twitch Terms of Service at all times while playing on the server: (https://www.twitch.tv/p/en/legal/terms-of-service/ and https://safety.twitch.tv/s/article/Community-Guidelines?language=en_US)
    • This means you must not play any copyrighted music at all on the server, this will result in a kick or a ban.
    • Please respect our streamers at all times, they are here to provide content and advertise our server via Twitch.
    • If you wish to stream on our server, you must set the example to the server, as you are being directly displayed to the entirety of our community.
    • We won’t be supporting streamers with our live role if they allow people to be toxic towards other individuals in the community or the community in general. If this is seen we will just remove your role, regardless of who you are.
  • Any behavior that is deemed disruptive by Staff may result in a Kick/Ban from the server, examples include, but are not limited to:
    • Breeding toxicity directed towards any member of the community or generally the community itself, either in character or out of character.
    • Spamming music, soundboards, and/or making loud noises into your microphone in order to annoy other players or be obnoxious.
    • Directly or indirectly threatening other players with a possible player report or admin action with the intent to intimidate them.
  • Ban Evasion: Attempting to circumvent a ban in any way other than appealing the ban via Forums is against the rules and will result in a permanent ban with 0 chance to ever return..
  • Under no circumstances are you to speak about real world politics or religion at all in our community, in or out of the city. Zenath is for all cultures and religions but you are not to speak about them either in-game or in discord – discussion about these topics can cause drama and can be an upsetting topic for some.
    • This also includes any real world religion or politics being a part of your character’s RP, if you’d like to go with something religion based, make something up, do not use anything from the real world.
  • We have a 0 tolerance policy for any form of harassment, discrimination, prejudice. This is in character and in discord/dms etc.
    • Racism
    • Sexism
    • Sexual Orientation
    • Personal Disability
    • Gender Identity
    • ANY derogatory language associated with the above, but not limited to just these.
      • This includes the “N” word, regardless of how it is said it will be treated as if you said the “hard R” version, this type of language is not allowed on the server whatsoever and you will be punished accordingly.
    • I.E. Don’t be an asshole. Unless it’s someone you are comfortable with and you are sure they won’t be offended by your words, just don’t say it.
  • Erotic Roleplay or ‘ERP’ and Terror Roleplay is strictly prohibited.
  • Suicide RP or jokes about suicide is strictly prohibited.
  • Any form of Rape roleplay Will get you removed from the community with no chance of appeal.
  • We have active staff members who Roleplay in the city. DO NOT disturb them with anything server-related while they are in character. They like to RP too.
    • This includes asking developers about any work they are doing for the server, their character is not the staff member.
  • Any obvious signs you are here to shoot at people and not roleplay will lead to you being watched by admins 24/7 for any rule breaks and not gain any leeway to punishments for rule breaks, this is a roleplaying server, not GTA:O/deathmatch server.
    • “Here to shoot at people†examples:
      • Instantly getting into shootouts/conflict with no build up within hours of being on the server.
      • Constantly trying to start things with existing groups or gangs, with absolutely no RP reason other than to shoot.
      • Speed running RP to get into gunfights, skipping corners and taking shortcuts to get guns etc., to shoot.
  • When giving us anything to put in the server it falls under the MIT license unless otherwise specified in the files, and we will no longer be accepting any assets that don’t fall under that license.
    • Just because you pay for something to be put in the server doesn’t mean you can ask for it to be removed just because you leave the server or are mad at someone.
  • Only exception to this rule is if you are the one who made the asset.
  • In the event that a rule is broken, you are not excused to break character mid scenario or inform the other player that a rule has been broken. Roleplay is expected to continue at all times while in the server.
  • Server Restarts are not an excuse to start breaking common server rules, like RDM/VDM, FailRP, etc.
  • Stay true to your character’s physical and mental attributes. Meaning doesn’t randomly become an overweight PED tomorrow if that isn’t how you initially made your character.
  • We seek unique character traits all around, if it’s not in your character to do something, then don’t do it.
  • Don’t instantly transition any character traits, for example, if you’re bald one day, don’t have a full head of hair the next. Roleplay that it’s growing out.
  • /OOC & /Help Usage:
    • The usage of the /OOC command is limited to RP breaking issues. If it can be answered or dealt with in Discord, do NOT ask in-game.
    • For example, if you need to notify people in the area, then use /ooc.
    • If you need to notify people on the server about something that is a RP breaking issue then use /oocs.
    • Anytime that you need to urgently contact a staff member, please use /help, if any staff member is on the server, then they will see it and contact you back. This is used in cases that only staff members can help you in, i.e stuck in a wall, can’t continue your RP because of a bug, etc.
    • If you don’t get a reply, open a ticket on discord.
  • Using OOC Terms in game
    • Using terms like “gods” “angels” “government” “deported” “gulag” etc., are ALL OOC terms, doesn’t matter what way you are trying to spin it, you are using an OOC term in game.
    • There are some acceptable forms of OOC terms like “muscle” “settings on your phone” etc.
    • While in the city the staff is not “the government” or “gods”.
    • If you have been caught/downed by the police, this is not your time to complain or talk OOC because you are upset.
    • If you are upset over the outcome of a scenario, you need to hold that anger in and roll with the RP. After the scenario is over and you feel like something wasn’t right, create a ticket and we will address the issue at hand.
  • Abusing bugs or in-game mechanics in order to gain an advantage over other players. Anyone found breaking this rule may be banned from the community indefinitely with no chance to appeal.
    • This includes but is not limited to:
      • Glitching out of the map
      • Duping Money/Items,
      • Asset Transfers.
      • Abusing car speed glitches, e.g. curb boosting or wiggle boosting.
  • Asset Transfers: Transferring Assets with the intention of bypassing the necessary RP, time, or risk involved with obtaining said assets.
    • Creating Characters for the purpose of Transferring the starting cash to another Character/Player.
    • Transferring Assets with the sole purpose of gaining said Assets on a separate character.
    • Again, anyone found breaking this rule may be banned from the community indefinitely with no chance to appeal.

Conflict Rules

  • Gang Violence must adhere to all server rules, including hostile initiation, NLR, and Metagaming.
  • Hostile initiation rules must be followed at ALL times.
  • When creating your gang, you can create a gang application on the forums. This will be to display each gang member and their discord, and the location of your gang turf. This is not required until you have been established in roleplay, as the main purpose of the gang application is to request clothing/gang items to enhance your roleplay assuming you are established. You do not need to do this to be a gang in the server, if you’re new.
  • Note: “Established” means you are not just forming and have established a presence in the city
  • You cannot have different characters be involved in multiple gangs.
  • Gangs may choose to develop alliances but please consider how this will affect the server. Conflict is important in creating valuable RP situations.
  • Gang wars should be started for much better RP reasons than “He crashed into me” or Twitter beef.
  • Have actual build up to a war, and the war must have an actual RP reason behind it, e.g. one gang member scammed or fucked over another in a situation.
  • You are NOT allowed to lure Police into your turf with the intention to ambush them with your entire gang.
  • Conflict within RP is encouraged, however conflict with no end in sight is not. When engaging in prolonged conflict with other parties, you must lay out a reasonable way to settle the conflict and be open to negotiation. (reasonable example: If you want to settle this issue, we want $10k, a car, and 3 heartstoppers.)
  • Retaliation: when one side attacks another, you must give them ample time (at least 1 hour) to retaliate before attacking again. (example: Gang #1 robbed Gang #2 and a shootout followed. Gang #1 must wait before making another move against Gang #2)
  • Be aware that staff has every right to directly end any conflict if we feel the RP quality is dwindling, and that it is causing too much OOC drama.
  • Any OOC drama that stems from war, e.g. constant tickets and revenge tickets (if there’s actual rulebreak then report it, but don’t turn it into a ticket-fest), we will directly end the war, and retcon it from the server.
  • Just like our character naming rule, your gang can not be named off an infamous or well known gang, be creative.
  • Each gang will be given a “pocket item” which will be a bandana with your gang’s colors. These items are craftable through the bench your gang leader can place in a house. When you are in an agreed upon war (leaders have met, discussed terms and approved the war); You will take the pocket item from the rival gang members pocket once you have downed them in a fight. Once you have collected x amount of bandanas, the war is expected to be declared over. Please do your best to leave the anger there, if there is any.
  • If you’re in an active war with another gang, please keep in mind the people around you when you choose to open fire. The Southside is treated differently than the middle of town. Example: near Bennys. Understand that the Police will treat both differently.
  • Toxicity in gang wars is unacceptable. You should be roleplaying a gangster and not getting upset OOC about anything. Set up terms, stay within those terms. Shit talking to each other is okay, as long as both parties are okay with it. Top Shooter, Top Dog mentality will end up getting you and your gang banned. Stay humble and keep that ego in check.
  • You should not be looking for petty reasons to OOC report members of the opposing gang. As well if you have an issue with something open a ticket, don’t DM Management/Admins or any staff in general.
  • Your gang may only have ONE turf. It is a street you hold down, or an area of the map you and your gang choose to make your home. Don’t be greedy.
  • The 4 person rule still applies at all times regardless if you are in your gang turf.
  • Be sure to follow 3rd Partying rules at all times.
  • Using violence against another player or group without RP leading up to the event is not allowed. You must either state a clear and reasonable demand to an intended target, with reasonable time to respond, or there must be adequate RP leading up to the event so that all parties recognize the sense of hostility.
  • When in hostile conflict with someone or another group, you are always required to verbally announce before a fight breaks out. “What’s good pussy” is not considered enough warning while in an agreed upon hostile conflict. I.E. Gang Wars
  • Criminal Activities and hostile scenarios are limited to 4 players max at a time.
  • Characters functioning as Lookouts, Get-away drivers, or anyone involved with assisting in an ambush are included in the 4 max rule.
  • Prison Transports. They may only be done by request of the arrested party, and at the polices discretion depending how many PD are on duty. You must still abide by the 4 man rule. ALL server rules still apply.
  • Camping the Prison: Waiting outside the prison for the sole purpose of capturing someone as they leave their prison sentence for revenge etc is strictly prohibited.
  • You are NOT allowed to tweet out or advertise on the yellow pages: game mechanics, OOC speech, or Lazy RP (I.e. how do I make money in this game?, Selling Pokemon cards or selling cash rolls).
  • Police Custody is defined here as ‘When an individual is in cuffs and has already started the processing process’ they may or may not be in a police cruiser.
  • Whenever characters are taken into Police custody, You are not allowed to interfere with the situation with some small exceptions.
  • Exceptions Include:
    • You were already on scene on foot, you may attempt to rescue your accomplice
    • Your accomplice is completely unattended, no PD within reasonable eyesight or earshot, and the accomplice was left in a vehicle or standing shackled.
    • All PD within ear or eyesight is unable to react for some reason.
  • A second Group of 4 can be formed during a Prison transport ONLY. The second group is NOT allowed to intervene until the prison transport begins.
  • You cannot do all, but not limited to the list below, these are examples and are not the definitive situations that would be prohibited:
    • You were not part of the direct scene, you drive up, hop out of your car and attempt to uncuff your accomplice
    • You left the direct scene, ran back to your apartment to change, and went back to do the above.
    • In above two examples you run up, pull your accomplice out of a police vehicle, escort them to your car and put them in yours.
    • You run into pillbox and uncuff your accomplice
    • You were not part of the direct scene, you do a driveby or snipe from afar and down all the cops
    • You stage an ambush to shoot at officers are they are transporting or in the process of preparing to transport to the hospital, or from the hospital to a PD
    • You take 3 hostages to attempt to do a hostage negotiation to get your accomplice back.
  • Prison Transports. They may only be done by request of the arrested party, and at the polices discretion depending how many PD are on duty. You must still abide by the 4 man rule. ALL server rules still apply.
  • These Custody rules will be enforced as failrp, powergaming, and/or meta gaming based on situation.
  • NO Criminal Activity is to take place inside of Safe Zones including shooting into the zone from the outside.
  • Any activity that takes place in the outside surrounding area is allowed.
  • The Interior of Mission Row Police Department
  • The interior of Pill Box Medical Center
  • Running into a Safe Zone with the intent to avoid the consequences of RP is not allowed, You are not immune to RP.
